  • Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene bashed New York City on Wednesday, calling it ‘filthy’ and ‘terrible.’
  • The Georgia lawmaker was heckled on Tuesday at a pro-Trump rally in Manhattan.
  • Greene’s short speech was inaudible in the face of a crowd that blew whistles and shouted over her.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene lashed out at the entire city of New York, calling it “repulsive” and “filthy” a day after she was heckled while trying to run a mini pro-Trump rally in downtown Manhattan.

The Georgia lawmaker made these remarks during an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Wednesday evening.

“Mayor Adams described New York as quote, his home,” Carlson said. “How did his home look, pretty neat and tidy?”

“No, his home is disgusting,” Greene responded. “I compared it to what I called Gotham City, the streets are filthy, they’re covered with people basically dying on drugs, they can’t even stand up, they’re falling over.”

“There’s so much crime in the city I can’t comprehend how people live there,” Greene said. “It was repulsive, it smells bad, and I just think it’s a terrible place.”

Greene was in New York to hold a mini protest for Trump, who was arrested and charged in court on Tuesday afternoon.

Greene is a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump — and on Tuesday, while defending him, she likened him to Jesus Christ and Nelson Mandela.

But when Greene arrived at the protest, she was heckled by counterprotesters who yelled insults, shouted over her while she spoke, and tried to drown her out with whistles. It turned out the whistles were distributed by a pro-Trump supporter, who did not realize Greene was holding a rally nearby, NBC’s Ben Collins reported.

Another clip from the protest showed police and Greene’s team escorting her through a tightly packed crowd of onlookers and photographers.

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — one of Greene’s adversaries in Congress — commented on Tuesday on Greene getting heckled.

“Welcome to NYC! Where there are still social consequences for shameless bigotry,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted.

Before the protest, New York Mayor Eric Adams singled out Greene by name when he called for calm in the run-up to Trump’s surrender in New York.

“People like Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is known to spread misinformation and hate speech. She’s stated she’s coming to town. While you are in town, be on your best behavior,” he said.

Greene in turn accused Adams on Monday of trying to stop her from using her “1st Amendment rights.” She also accused Adams of not addressing drug-related crime in New York without providing evidence or concrete substantiation.

A representative for Greene did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment sent outside regular business hours.

Greene’s right-wing protest was just one of many spectacles seen near the Manhattan criminal court on Tuesday, where Trump was charged with 34 felony charges of falsifying business records.

The people gathered there included a demonstrator in a diaper, a guitar-toting naked cowboy, a MAGA vlogger in star-spangled overalls, and a comedian impersonating the former president.

Trump is expected to appear in court again on December 4, as he faces an investigation linked to an election-eve hush-money payment his one-time personal lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, paid to porn star Stormy Daniels.
